Instructions:

Let’s build on Exercise 2 where you created a list of priorities for building a dashboard for a Bachelor of Marketing student. Again, the objective of the dashboard is to help students choose classes for their upcoming semester.

Now your objective is to create a Statement of Work. Your Statement of Work should include the following details:

  1. Audience attributes
  2. Motivations
  3. Necessary data

Constraints:

  • The primary motivation of this audience is to receive the highest quality teaching possible, but they do hold a job while attending school so the classes have to fit within their available time.
  • They do not want to take any more than 5 classes, but no less than 4.

Data

  1. Necessary:
  • Work schedule
  • Time to get to work from class
  • Importance of course subject matter for a marketing student
  • Area of marketing they’d like to focus
  • Some sort of teacher quality score which could be:
    • Recommendations
    • Past student reviews
    • Awards the teacher has received
  1. Optional
  • Number of classes they’d like to take
  • Time of day preference
  • Etc.

In summary

Our dashboard will provide this stellar student with a list of courses that fit their work schedule, ranked by course quality.
